This project was for my intermediate typography class. The prompt was to make a book and bind it ourselves. The contents of this book were to include any ten things of our choice. I chose to include ten recipes I would like to cook.

My initial ideas were all pretty much the same: ten different types of foods. I eventually landed on recipes. Once I had my content I researched different binding methods and landed on a saddle stitch/bind.

I then went to my sketchbook to draw up some different layouts of how i wanted my book to look. I experimented with different ways to layout my header. After getting my layout I found the typefaces that i wanted to use. I used Futura and a serifed font I found online. After getting my fonts gathered my recipes and pictures of the recipes. The pictures i used i took into photoshop and masked out the backgrounds. My cover was the last thing I made. It had several renditions. I finally came up with a simple layout of stacked words. On the back i have an accent of a measuring cup.

In this project i used a lot of photoshop and indesign. Photoshop is something i don't use that often. So any chance i get im glad to use it to brush on my skills. Indesign is equally as complicated, so everytime i use it im learning more.
